Hello there! I went to visit my Mom and Dad today (Tuesday) and am sending an update to all the people to whom I sent the video about coconut oil and Alzheimer’s.

Dad has been giving Mom 1 tablespoon of MCT(medium-chain triglyceride) oil in her orange juice in the morning and using a little coconut oil to fry her egg.

When I arrived Mom was up and sitting in her favourite corner of the couch, but she was not leaning against the back of the couch dozing, which has been her usual pose. She was sitting up and looking interested and she continued to do so. I sat in the living room with her and Dad. I commented on a new plant, a yellow primrose, which was on the coffee table. My mom told me that the Elders (a couple who are friends of theirs) had visited them on Sunday and given them the plant. Sheremembered what had happened on Sunday! She went to get dressed and Dad told me that she seemed more animated and that she was doing her crossword puzzles again. Dad and I worked on a project in the bedroom. After Mom got dressed (with help from the caregiver who comes in to do that) she sat on the couch, but instead of leaning back and dozing she read Maclean’s magazine for about an hour and a half until it was time to get ready to go downstairs for lunch. She said she should put her shoes on. She went and got her own shoes (instead of expecting Dad or me to get them) and started putting them on. She said she needed a shoehorn so Dad got the shoehorn for her and she put on her own shoes. At lunch, again, as last week, she poured water for Dad and me. As Dad said, she was more animated than she has been and not tired.

That is all the improvements we have noticed so far. I think it’s quite a lot for about 2 and a half weeks.

I just had to write to say the free-range turkey that you supplied us was “awesome”.
My 92 year old mother said that she hasn’t tasted a bird like that since she was young and living on a farm. I also noticed that there wasn’t 2 inches of scum on the bottom of the roaster. We were very pleased.

Nearly three years ago I went into hospital for a simple procedure where I had to have an anesthetic. When I came around my back was killing me. They told me that nothing happened (I suspect they dropped me), my back got steadily worse and a few days after that my disc slipped. I spent a long time recovering from that and shortly after I was starting to feel better, until I bent to get something and another disc slipped. This time it was very bad and got progressively worse……

I went to the top back specialists in Vancouver. I had test after test. I saw a neurologist. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the discs was pressing on the sciatic nerve, I was in agony and housebound and there was nothing they could do for me and they told me it would get worse. As you can imagine I became rather depressed. I was unable to walk more than half a block. I had to get out of bed to turn over in the night (you have no idea how often you turn over until that happens). This had gone on for two years; I was beginning to hope for an early death (I’m not kidding) because I was in so much pain. I was being given morphine derivative so I could get through the day. It hurt to sit and it hurt to stand.
My sister had for some time been telling me about RECOVERY that she said worked. I tend to put that kind of talk in the “airy fairy” zone and basically ignore it. Finally, because I was so desperate, I tried it. Within five days I was walking around. Within a week I was able to do a two mile walk and I no longer had to get out of bed to turn over. I’m aware I sound like a walking advert for them, it had such an amazing effect on me and it gave me my life back.
Aside from my back, it had the added benefit of easing my arthritis somewhat and improved my eyesight a little and generally acted like an overall tonic for me. I felt better than I had in years.
